Hervé Sitruk, is mainly recognised as a European expert on electronic banking transactions and payment systems, on smart cards and the security issues involved in the deployment of banking applications, and electronic document signatures. For the last thirty years, he set up it’s own consulting company, and works mainly in the banking area, in France and in Europe.
From 1989, he was consultant of the Groupement des Cartes Bancaires, the French banking consortium for the smart cards. Since, he achieves a lot of studies on the changeover to the smart cards, electronic purses …for French or European banks. He was also consultant for the French clearing company, and other interbank systems.
He was in charge of various reports commissioned by the French Ministry of Finance and the French National Committee for Credit and Securities:
– A major report on technologies used in the French finance and banking system as we move towards the Single Market (1991), set up with the main Banking IT Managers and IST Industries,
– The first detailed study on payment systems and interbank organizations in Europe, with the support of European central banks and the European banking industry organisations,
– Reports on electronic banking in Europe and in US….
In 1995, he acted as consultant for the European Commission on the Green Paper concerning the changeover to euro, and defined the euro scenario for the banking and financial industry. He was a member of “GroupEuro” of the European Commission,
