Kenta Akiyama is a Managing Director of Lazard Frères K.K. in Japan where he focuses on mergers and acquisitions in various industries. Prior to joining Lazard in 2005, he worked in the Strategic Advisory Dept. of Daiwa Securities SMBC.
Mr. Akiyama’s recent transactions include: Sale of Toys”R”Us Asia/Japan, Showa Shell’s merger with Idemitsu, Ajinomoto’s acquisition of Cambrooke Therapeutics (U.S.) and Örgen (Turkey), Nisshin Seifun’s acquisitions of overseas millers (U.S. and New Zealand), Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group’s investment in and strategic alliance with Morgan Stanley.
From 2006 to 2007, he was on secondment to Lazard NY office, and was involved in various cross-Atlantic/Pacific M&A transactions.
